Born Arthur Emmanuel Orlinsky, later known simply as Art Orlean, was the son of Eastern European immigrants who came to the United States in pursuit of the American Dream.
After attending The Ohio State University for both his undergraduate and Law studies and serving in Army Intelligence during World War II, he then entered and subsequently left the practice of law to join his father, a carpenter, in homebuilding. In 1954, he founded The Orlean Company, expanding into development, construction, financing, and property management—transforming his vision into a thriving business.
Art’s entrepreneurial spirit led to the creation of multiple business entities, including Abel Bishop & Clarke Realty Co. in 1957, which evolved into ABC Management. Today, his legacy lives on through a family-driven enterprise that employs nearly 200 people and manages about 5000 units. A hardworking innovator, Art remained dedicated to his business and philanthropy until his passing in 2007 at the age of 92. His achievements and values continue to inspire generations of his family and the communities he helped shape.
